An unexpected breathtaking place in Germany

So, it is already a few weeks ago that I went to Baden-Württemberg, for a press trip with work. Yeah, I hear you thinking Baden-Württemberg…where is that? Don’t worry, I also did not know it. Baden-Württemberg is a state on the West-South side of Germany, divided into Baden and Württemberg (obviously haha). By the way, they call themselves, the sunny side of Germany. You can guess, my expectations were high as a “sun lover”. Okay back to the point now, press trip with work to Baden-Württemberg. The next question which probably pups up into your mind is “a press trip with work”, how? I work as a PR Campaign Manager for a company called Cherry LAB and was asked to go on two press trip to Germany, both to the same state but with different influencers/journalists and purposes. This press trip e.g. was about culinary food, whereas, the other press trip is going to be more active.

To start off with…

What was/is my job during those press trips? Everything should already be arranged when we arrive at the different places, but if there is something wrong or going on, I am the who makes the decisions and is in charge. Kind of funny and difficult when you are the youngest one of the group, but everything went well! The group was divers of age, of content, and humour, but the mix was amazing and we had lots of fun together.

Thursday morning, I met the six influencers/journalists at Schiphol Airport and after everyone arrived, we checked-in our luggage, passed the security and went for a coffee/tea. I have decided that I am not going to tell a lot about everything we have done in those four days, because that would be too much and most of it is actually churches and history about the cities (nope, I am not a huge fan of that), however, I still want to give you an impression of how beautiful and inspiring the cities have been! Something which I, certainly, did not expect!

My two favourite cities

During those four days, we visited each day another city. However, two of them are by far my favourite; Meersburg and Konstanz. They lay both along the Lake of Constance, called Bodensee in German,  which just gives such a relaxing and breathtaking view. Meersburg is very small and quiet compared to Konstanz. It is also more traditional and perfect if you want to calm down from the rush of life, because yes that is how it really felt to be there. Besides walking around, souvenir shopping, and staring at the Lake,  there was not a lot to do in Meersburg. That did not make the city less nice, it already has so much flair, that it does not need more.

On the other hand, there is Konstanz. Konstanz is a University city. The whole city is made for the students, with lots of commercial shops, bars/nightclubs, restaurants, parks, and cycling roads. The city is so alive, that you are too busy the whole day with doing all kind of different things. Totally the opposite of what Meersburg can give you, but that is also what I like about those places. If you want silence and calmness, you go to Meersburg, but if you want life, you go to Konstanz. The perfect balance!

Besides that, when we arrived in Konstanz on Saturday there was a boat festival already going on since Friday. A woman told us that it is one of the most famous events in Konstanz, where there are boat competitions, games for children and young adults, a fair with attractions, and lots of food/drink trucks. Another detail, they were right with their “sunny side of Germany”, because all those four days were around 30 degrees with a blue sky. Yes, happy me “working” with my face in the sun, travelling around.

The next trip

Next week on Thursday, I am already going back to Baden-Württemberg again. Just saw the program with all the things which we are going to do on this active trip and I am glad that I am a sportive woman. Curious if this group is going to be as fun as the other group was.  Kilometres of hiking, mountain biking, and canoe, are all in!  Ready for some more breathtaking views.

PS. Sorry for the lack of pictures, I hoped to give you a better impression than this, but due to fact that my laptop is not able to sort them nicely, I decided to erase them. If you want to see some more pictures, you can always take a look at my Instagram; travelaroundwithbella.
