Trip to the South of Spain

The first holiday after England again with my family. My parents were already in Spain with my sister, before I came here. They made a trip from Malaga to Cordoba, Granada and then finished in Sevilla. I flew to Sevilla on the 14th of July and my parents and Fabiënne picked me up at the airport, we would stay there together 2 days. They had already warned me for the heat because the average degrees there is around 40 during summer and, yes, even during the evening it was very very warm.

Sevilla itself is an amazing and beautiful city. It is popular with students because life in Sevilla is cheap and almost no local speaks English, so you will probably learn Spanish very quick. On our first day, in the morning, we had a private bike tour. Our tour guide with a young adult who was originally from Belgium, and studied in Maastricht, but now lived in Sevilla for already over a year. You can imagine how enthusiastic I became after hearing here stories. I directly wanted to go abroad again. When I am in a big city, I always like to do a bike tour because you get to know the city so well, so quick.

After those days of exploring Sevilla, we went more to the South, to Marbella. My brother land at Malaga, so after picking him up the quality time together could finally start.

Marbella is a perfect place to go to the beach each day and relax. We were 7 whole days there and that apartment was within walking distance from the harbour, perfect! One day, when my dad and brother were playing golf and the girls were on the beach. It started to rain so hard, that we had to hide under the sun umbrella. The temperature dropped immediately and unfortunately, the sun did not come back that day. We went for shopping for the rest of the day, also not bad at all.

At the end of the holiday,  on Thursday, I became very sick. Because I am in love with the sun and never under the umbrella, my parents thought that it was because of the sun. However, it was not. When we were back in the Netherlands, Saturday, I am glad that I was able to go on the plane, we directly went to the doctor. The doctor told me just to rest, gave me some pills and it would go away she said. Monday I was still very sick, could not walk anymore because of the pain in stomach. We went to my own doctor and he send us directly to the emergence of the hospital. I had food poisoning… Slept for a night in the hospital and needed to rest another 2 weeks more at home.

Besides the last 3 days which were not that fun, it was very nice spent time with my parents, brother and sister again.
